Wild Boy

Image
On Monday a special visitor came to speak to us. His name was Brando Yelavich, but he said we could call him Wild Boy. He is an explorer and likes to go on big adventures. Wild Boy's first adventure was walking all around New Zealand - it took him 600 days! Sometimes he got really tired, but he never gave up - he showed resilience. Wild Boy's next adventure is to walk across Greenland - he is counting down. He will give updates on his adventure on his website https://www.wildboyadventures.com/about-brando  Wild Boy says, "Make your own luck!"

Hokowhitu Games

Image
We were very lucky that the rain moved on and that we were able to participate in the Hokowhitu Games for the last day of Term 1. We wore our school house colours with pride and were able to compete in some fun games such as chuck the chicken, bucket tipping and flag races. What a fun way to end the term!

Hokowhitu Kindergarten visits

Image
We have had the pleasure of visiting Hokowhitu Kindergarten. We were all amazed at the wonderful learning environment they have at their kindy. We especially playing in their home corner, exploring the musical instruments and in the very cool boat outside. We then repaid the kindy for their kindness by inviting them back to our school. We had fun creating artworks together, exploring the playground and playing with our toys in the classroom.

Greetings in our Classroom

We have been practising using greetings from the cultures of the children in our classroom to say good morning when calling the roll. We are getting very confident at doing this. How many greetings in different languages can you say?
